About Actually Autistic Picks
By the community, for the community
Our Story
Actually Autistic Picks was born from a simple frustration: finding products that actually help neurodivergent people shouldn't require hours of research, reading between the lines of generic reviews, or guessing whether something will cause sensory overload rather than relief.
As autistic individuals and parents of autistic children, we spent years sifting through Amazon reviews, Reddit threads, and community forums to find what genuinely works. We built this site to share what we've learned with our community of 500,000+ members — so you don't have to do that research alone.
Our Mission
To be the most trusted resource for sensory-friendly, ADHD-supportive, and autism-approved products — curated by neurodivergent people who actually use them. Every recommendation is based on real community feedback, not paid sponsorships.
How We Choose Products
Community Research
We scour r/autism, r/ADHD, r/AutisticAdults, and our 500K-member Facebook group
Quality Filter
Only products with 4+ star ratings and substantial positive reviews make our list
Sensory Profiling
We categorize by sensory function (calming, focusing, stimming) not just product type
Honest Reviews
We compile honest pros, cons, and age recommendations for every product
Our Community
Our Facebook group is home to over 500,000 neurodivergent individuals and families. It's where we source our recommendations, share experiences, and support each other. The products on this site are a reflection of what this incredible community has found genuinely helpful.

Actually Autistic Picks is an Amazon affiliate site. When you click our links and make a purchase, we earn a small commission at no extra cost to you. This keeps us running and allows us to continue researching and curating helpful products. We will never recommend something just because it pays well — our reputation with the neurodivergent community matters more than any commission.
